We started before there were digital cameras.

The company began in 1994 as Miguels Mexico — by our reckoning the first website dedicated to selling Mexican real estate. There were no digital cameras. We shot film, waited for it to develop, and scanned every photograph by hand.

Mitch first fell for Mexico in the mid-1980s, living with a friend’s family in Acapulco. He and Miguel Aguirre met in Denver as language partners, and went on to build the business together. In 2004 we became Mexico International.

In between came Hurricane Isidore in 2002 and its long aftermath, including the looted Quinta Teresa. And in the early 2000s we marketed and brokered Hacienda Chenché de las Torres while the estate was in severe ruin — a transaction that changed that property’s modern fate, and still the story people ask us about most.

Thirty years later we are in the same city, with sixteen agents, doing the same thing: telling buyers the truth about what things really cost.
