San Crisanto Yucatan is the location of this beautiful and tranquil beach house, a small fishing village that feels a world away, but is just over an hour’s drive from the bustling city of Merida. Located just 2 blocks from the town’s square, this would make a great home for year round living, or a great getaway home.

Recently renovated and updated, the house includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The spacious living/dining/kitchen area is open and welcoming, and has a view over the swimming pool to the Gulf of Mexico beyond. Solid stone and block construction gives a sense of permanence and the traditional palapa roof gives the beach vibe you’re looking for. A pool bar is great for entertaining friends who will be happy to visit this tropical waterfront home.

Air conditioners and ceiling fans, along with the screened windows keeps everything fresh and cool, and the view over the Gulf is mesmerizing. The house is being sold furnished.

What owning this actually involves

Yucatán Beach is inside Mexico’s restricted zone, which runs 50 km inland from any coast. A foreign buyer here holds title through a fideicomiso — a Mexican bank trust in which you are the named beneficiary. It is not a lease: you can live in the property, rent it, remodel it, sell it and leave it to your heirs. The term is 50 years and it renews.

The purchase completes before a notario público, a state-appointed lawyer, and typically takes 30–60 days.
